My name is Shane. I'm a twenty year-old student at Berklee College of Music. I've been playing guitar for ten years. For the past four years I've also worked with youth groups in music, so I'm well experienced in working with kids. I'm also more than happy to teach adults. I'm located in Back Bay Boston, but I'm willing to travel pretty much anywhere the T will take me. Rates are generally $20/half hour and $30/ hour, but I'm flexible.

If you think you might be interested, you can reach me at 1 603 686 6182 or drop me an email at soconnor@berklee.net

Thanks

Theatre@First, Davis Square's own community theatre, seeks short one-act plays and directors for an evening of one-acts to be performed over the weekends of July 16 and 23. Our committee will be looking for quality plays by established or local playwrights that draw the broadest possible audience while creating a vibrant evening of theatre. Theme will be determined by the play-reading committee and selected based on the plays received.

Each play will have its own director and cast, and all casting will take place via a general audition this spring. Those interested in directing are encouraged to submit a work of your choice, as are playwrights who would prefer not to direct. Submission criteria is as follows:

·10-20 minute plays on any theme (may not exceed 20 minutes)
·Cast minimum of 2 (no maximum)
·No improvisation or straight dance pieces
·Reasonably appropriate language and content
·Original or published plays are equally accepted. Please indicate whether or not you would be directing.
·Plays will be performed on a simple stage with minimal set requirements and a repertory light plot.
·As we are a community theatre, we cannot offer pay. Theatre@First was founded to provide affordable quality theatre to our community and to offer an artistic venue to community members wishing to share their skills and talents.
·DEADLINE for submission is March 20, 2005.

Theatre@First is located on College Avenue near Davis Square in Somerville. Our previous productions have included Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, David Ives’ All In The Timing, Murder In The Cathedral, and other works past and current. Interested playwrights/directors may submit a script (and brief bio) one of two ways:

A)Via e-mail (Word doc) to one-acts@theatreatfirst.org
B)Via postal mail (address upon request to above e-mail)

For questions, please contact us at one-acts@theatreatfirst.org.

For anyone who LOVES locally grown organic produce, wants to support the environment and sustainable agriculture, and sniffs the air at the outrageous price of leeks at Bread and Circus, consider buying a share or half-share of the Waltham Community Fields Farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). For a little more than $500 (half that for a half share) you get 20-ish weeks of fabulous veggies and fresh flowers, delivered right down the street. First Congregational Church of Somerville (on College Ave outside Davis) will be the pickup site, so you don't even have to trek to the farm to get your goods. Shares are selling right now, and delivery begins in early June.

This is also a good way to meet people--we're going to have monthly potlucks once the crops start coming in. And if you need further incentive, they give away a lot of food to feeding programs and low-income families.

To sign up visit the farm's website at: www.communityfarms.org.

Do good while eating well!
