picking wildflowers

My apologies if this has been put out there before, and I just missed it. My friends and I want to go pick wildflowers...free, or for a charge. Any information on where we could do this would be highly appreciated. We have a car, so distance is ok, though staying in the area is prefered. (davis square, somerville parks, etc)

kooky T drivers

Certain train drivers have distinctive voices. Lately I've been noticing this one guy's voice - deep and authoritative, but with a sly sense of humor.

Overheard a few days ago:

"I notice some people are leaning against the train doors."
(A bad idea for a number of reasons, right?)

"Remember, the train IS a machine... and machines do MALFUNCTION."

Anyone else have anecdotes of MBTA employees with a sense of humor?
