The best thing about living in Davis Square is not needing a car. However, there are times when being able to ZipCar or whatever would be most useful. I haven't driven in like ten or fifteen years, so I think I will need a refresher, to say the least, and I will need a car to take the driving test to get a license. Can anyone recommend a local driving school that provides these services.

Where: The Shack Sports Bar at the Summer Shack in Cambridge
When: Hopefully every Thursday night at 8pm

But they have only 2 weeks to prove ourselves!

We really need the crowds in there for the next two Thursdays, March 30th and April 6th. It starts at 8 will probably only go until about 11 or 12.

Even if you don't sing, we know that most of you drink, and all of you eat (kitchen's open till 9:30), so come for those things, at least! They count almost more than the singing, since the restaurant/bar is only looking at their numbers, not how many people are there for karaoke, alone.

The night could really use your support to get off the ground! Please forward this to anyone you know who is interested in karaoke, or just hanging out at a bar with pals and having a good time.

The Cambridge Summer Shack is easily accessible by T (end of the red line at Alewife), or by car with plenty of parking. See http://www.summershackrestaurant.com/Locations_Cambridge.asp for more details on how to get there.

Hi everyone,

I wasn't sure where to start with this so I'm trying the Davis Square community.
My name is Jennifer Simon and I am currently a junior at Tufts University. This semester I'm taking a Women's Studies class that involves a group 'public gender' project. My group and I have decided to do research about single parents and the way they and others view their experience in relation to society's perception of gender roles.
I am posting here to ask if there are any single parents, or adults who grew up in single parent households, who would be willing to give a short interview about their situation.

I would ideally like to film the interview (just with my digital camera) in order to most accurately capture the individual's own words and personality, but would understand perfectly if someone would rather I just take notes/tape. The interview would comprise about 10 questions and shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes.

I realise this is sort of a strange request and I apologise that this needs to be done relatively soon. I would be available this Friday, or Sunday during the day, but will try to accomodate people's schedule. I wish I could offer more than coffee/food of some sort as compensation! My e-mail is jsimon05@mac.com, if anyone could possibly take part, or knows of anyone who might be able to, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions at all, or details about location or timing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, any help at all would be greatly greatly appreciated.
