Hey, has anyone else noticed that Davis Square stinks?

I don't mean that metaphorically. I mean, really. For the past few nights, when I've walked into the Square for ice-cream, there's been this terrible sewage/garbage stench in the air. It seems to be much worse by the storm-drains, especially the one by the water fountain in front of J.P. Licks. Tonight we couldn't even sit there to eat our ice-cream it was so nasty.

I guess I'll give D.P.W. a call tomorrow when I can get a break at work, but I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed?

Also, does the relevant Alderperson have reliable e-mail contact? Is an alderbeing even the right person to talk to?

tonight!

There is also a Fitchburg State College Alumni Meet up at Orleans tonight.

Our meet-up starts at 6:30, and we're pretty festive.

We've had it scheduled there for over a month, just an FYI.

I knew that 4 bars in Somerville had 2am closing (Fridays and Saturdays). PJ Ryans, Goodtimes, Toast and Independent. Now I just got an email from the Burren that "10 bars in Somerville have been granted the 2am closing time" anyone know what the other 6 are? (The Burren is not one of them)

The back end of the VFW buidling has been torn down! I also got a newsletter in the mail saying that the buidling should be down soon, and that it won't be ready for occupancy until Fall 2007. I'll post that too if I ever get time. it had a pretty bad picture on the front of it, so bad that I couldn't tell if they planned stores on the bottom or not, and it looked like a corner building, but its in the middle of a block, unless the Middlesex bank is going too, at a later date.
