City's Upcoming W. Somerville Open Space and Recreation Community Meeting

Open Space and Recreation Community Meeting - West Somerville area

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Ward 6 Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz, and Ward 7 Alderman Robert Trane invite all interested residents and stakeholders to attend a Community Meeting to discuss the 2008 update of the City's Open Space & Recreation Plan.  The Plan is required to be updated every five years by the State Division of Conservation Services, to be eligible for certain open space and recreation grant programs. A community meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Tufts Administration Building, 167 Holland Street, to discuss the current plan and the planning process for its revision in 2008.  All are welcome.  For more information, please contact Landscape Project Manager Ellen Schneider at (617) 625-6600, x2529.

i just spotted a coyote trotting west down mallet st. right by powderhouse park... called 311 and they said the animal control officer was 'chasing him down'. hope your dogs and cats are in!

BTW, does anyone have a pic of the proposed plans? I'd love to see that space turned into something useful, but hopefully something a little more than just 15 condo-boxes in a building with parking spots out front.
