Quick plug for Alfresco, the Italian restaurant in the former 'Out of the Blue' location on Highland Ave (Cutter St, near When Pigs Fly). I ate there for the first time this weekend, taking my wife and two kids, and was very pleasantly surprised. I say 'surprised' mainly because whenever I walk past it never looks like they're doing a ton of business. I hope more people give it a chance, it's a great little place!

In all honesty I'm not very up to date with the local politics, but I have been trying to become more informed and more active. Can someone give me an impartial background about what this person is talking about? What DSTF and Darbi do exactly?

If you're Jewish and looking for a welcoming community to join for Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur, consider Havurat Shalom. The Hav is just outside the Square, on College Ave., and there is no fee for any of our services, ever. (I actually found the Hav when I first moved to Somerville and was going crazy trying to find a place I could afford to attend for High Holidays.)

Tonight's erev Rosh Hashannah service starts at 6:30 (so yeah, I'm posting this a little late). Our schedule for the rest of the holidays is below the cut.

PS - We're a very open, feminist, queer-positive, trans-positive space, which might be of relevance for a decent subset of the Davis area. We're also very accommodating of disabilities and other special needs.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for witnesses to the "scuffle" that happened outside my store Saturday, about 2 am.

Someone was thrown threw the window and injured, transported to the hospital with severe lacerations.

I have the name of the injured person, but without witnesses to say what happened, I am going to be held responsible for the rather expensive damage.

I know it's a long shot, but thought it might be worth a try...I understand it goes with the territory of owning a business, but it is a total bummer that I am going have to pay for someone's drunken brawl stupidity.

If anybody knows anything, please email me at plittlergirl@aol.com.

Thank you very much!

Meredith
