Sometime on Saturday the 15th, between the hours of 12:00a and 2:00p, my partner's car was broken into while parked on Thorndike Street (coincidentally, right by the Willow Tree). They smashed her passenger-side window and stole her GPS and iPod from inside the center console (even though they shouldn't have been left there in the first place, it still sucks). We filed a police report. The woman at the Somerville Police Department was incredibly kind and helpful, but she didn't really give us a lot of hope that any of the stuff would be returned.

I'm posting this for three reasons.

(1) as a heads-up so that, hopefully, others can avoid having the same thing happen to them.

(2) to see if there is even the slightest chance that anyone may have seen anything and

(3) for those who have had this happen to them, have you ever gotten any of your stuff back? As she is not a resident of Somerville (just visiting) none of her stuff is registered with WRAP.

I really appreciate any sort of insight that anyone can provide. Thanks to all, and I hope that these kinds of crimes are not on the rise.

There is a good variety of films this week up on Walnut Hill. Grab a seat before the students leave for Thanksgiving break.

I've seen a lot of last minute screenings popping up on the schedule recently, so check my online calendar before settling for reruns of "Everyone Loves Raymond".

The Tufts Film Series is showing "The Dark Knight" and "Tropic Thunder" next weekend.

You can see "Das Parfuem" on Monday night and "The Summer of Aviya" on Tuesday.

Wednesday brings screenings of "Power of One" and "Persepolis".

On Thursday, you can join the filmmaker Jaffar Mahmood (a 2000 Tufts grad) for a screening of his comedy "Shades of Ray".

Coming attractions... )

Why spend a quiet evening at home tonight when you can come down at play ROCK BAND at Orleans Bar & Restaurant in Davis Square?

Tonight at 9 pm, come on down to 65 Holland Street in Somerville to rock out with fake instruments in front of adoring bar patrons. We have over 400 songs to choose from, included the new AC/DC pack. All levels of player are welcome, from beginner to expert.

See you there, friends!

We've had sold out or nearly sold out houses for every show (except this past Thursday), and our final weekend is fast approaching. If you want to see Rimers, your final chances will be this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I highly recommend that you make reservations

I was signed up for a class at Spark Craft, on Mass Ave just outside of Davis, in December, but, just got an email from the instructor there that the business is closing on November 30th or before. There is apparently a contest to win the business, but, it seems their website is already down.

This business was in Davis for some time before it moved to Mass Ave; I'm sorry they don't seem to have enough business to stay there.
