Found tonight around 11pm in Porter Square Shopping Center pk lot, opposite Tags, 6th parking row or so: black beret with a single silver pin, very distinctive logo. Any claimers? Email to my lj account (or post amid nifty guessing games here) to claim.

So I went to call the police about my upstairs neighbour (they occasionally come home from clubbing at 3 am, and forget that they do not live in a club). When I called for a non-emergency dispatch, I was told that 'It will likely be over an hour before anyone could come and see to it; we have a large emergency in the west end of the city, and all the police are over there.'

Anyone know what it is? I told her, of course, not to put in my call, because this is astonishingly unimportant compared to anything where people might be hurt or at risk. But I'm curious if anyone knows what has tied up all of Somerville's police at this hour.

Does anyone have a paper copy of last week's Weekly Dig that I could
have? (The one that came out on 2/4.) I could come pick it up.

(Or does anyone know where in the Davis area there might still be a
stack of them? The box near the T doesn't seem to be refilled these
days; the one near Mike's is empty; the local restaurants I knew of
that used to have piles don't seem receive piles any more.)

Thanks.

#1- I was just at Harvard Sq and they are selling Girl Scout cookies at a table outside the Coop across from Out of Town News.

#2- I believe there are 2 versions of the new movie "Coraline" out- 1 in 3D and the other, not in 3D. Does anyone know where the 3D version is showing? I looked it up online, but none of them mentioned a 3D showing anywhere. Answered- http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/1642561.html?thread=19044417#t19044417

By the way, excellent flick, but probably not suited for wee ones. And in 2D it is still an amazing movie.

Putting it out on Chandler St, near the corner of Chandler and Park. It's yours, or it's trash tomorrow.

does anyone know of anywhere in davis square that takes used cell phone donations (preferably that go to, say, battered women's shelters or some other such use).
