I'd like to put a Chimenea in our back yard this year for toasty evening chill-out sessions in the spring and fall, but it occurs to me that the city may frown upon it...

Has anyone looked into Somerville's stance on backyard contained fire thingies?
I feel like if you're allowed to grill you should be allowed to have an outdoor fireplace, but I could be wrong.

*edit*
Answer is apparently "no outdoor burning except grilling."

I hope it's ok to post this. I'm trying to get in touch with the musician James Coleman and I haven't been able to find a working email address for him. I came across his myspace, but it doesn't look like he's logged in for a while.

If you're speculating that my looking for him has anything to do with my post a while back about local thereminists, you are correct!

Please message me if you have a current email address for him. Or if he is here, hello!

(Tagged as local characters 'cause that seemed the closest.)

Anyone know what the current status of the Maxpak development is?  And how this might related to the Cedar to Central portion of the bike path extension?

The next meeting of the Davis Square Task Force will take place on Monday, February 23 at 7 pm at the TAB building, 167 Holland Street.

If you'd like to add an item to the agenda, please send an e-mail to davissquaretaskforce+owner@googlegroups.com , or come to a short agenda-setting meeting, which will occur on Wednesday, February 18 at 5:15 pm at Au Bon Pain in Davis Square. (The agenda-setting committee this month consists of Brian Brady, Lee Auspitz, Rebekah Gewirtz, Monica Lamboy, and me.)

We've set up an announce-only Google group for people who want to receive meeting announcements, agendas, and (we hope) minutes. If you'd like to join it, go to
http://groups.google.com/group/davissquaretaskforce .

Fairly soon we are going to have to start planning the next DS Yard sale. I was very happy that last year we raised so much money. I'm fine with having the SHC be our beneficiary again unless there is a strong preference to support another local charity or split the proceeds to more than 1 charity. If you would like to be involved with the planning of this event, please join [livejournal.com profile] davis_sale.

Also, nobody has yet stepped forward to take over the DS meetups. I'm not sure whether that is an indication that they ran their course and we should let it go or if nobody wants the responsibility for it. One option that we can do is to have the meetups be more informal (not expecting any freebies or space saved). If we start them at 8pm instead of 7pm, I can be there in time to set things up. Let me know if there is interest in having this thing continue.
