I am putting two used but servicable bookshelves to the curb this morning. 66 Elmwood St. off Holland Ave in Davis Sq. (Somerville). One is a hutch style three shelf unit 36"x36" and the other a vertical 3 shelf unit 40"x23". These were both woodgrain, but have been painted a glossy black. I've had them for years, but need to minimize for a pending out of state move. They are free on a first come first serve basis. If they are still there Mon. morning they will be taken away with the trash.

Though not going to the curb this morning, I also have the following items up for adoption. if anyone is interested please contact via e-mail:

1 papasan chair with green cushion. The frame is in great shape with 1 small spot where the wicker should be reglued eventually and the cushion is dirty but washable and in great shape otherwise with 1 tiny tear underneath.

1 knee high 6 drawer dresser approx. 60"Wx18"Dx30"H. Very heavy duty with all drawers in perfect working order. Off-white/light beige color. This unit is long and heavy (some sort of laminate) and you'll need a van or truck to move it.

1 matching 2 drawer nightstand approx . 23"Wx18"Dx22"H. off-white/light beige in excellent shape.

I'm a local art teacher, and together with my colleagues we are offering a Spanish language and arts immersion summer program for kids aged 3-6, and 6-9. We will study the visual arts, drama, music, history, customs and language of different Spanish speaking countries each day, and sample snacks from those cultures as well! This will be a fun interdisciplinary experience, taught by teachers who LOVE what they do.

Does anyone know if there's a pizza place in the area that uses rennet-free mozzerella?

Hi All,

I just saw Food Inc and it has made me think a bit more about where my food comes from and how I spend my shopping dollars. I live in Davis (well Teeleish) but can rarely make it to the Farmers Market. I hear there is one in Union on Sat, I will be checking that out. I'm new to all of this and I'm doing my research to get started eating organically etc. Any tips, stores, etc in the local area I should be checking out, I'm not overly eager to give Whole Foods money if there are cheaper more local options. Thanks

For those who don't read [livejournal.com profile] b0st0n: I lost a bag of Victoria's Secret purchases from my bike route between the Cambridgeside Galleria and Davis Square earlier today, and am trying for the unlikely magic of someone on here having found it. Details here.

I'm reposting this from the Somerville Arts Council mailing list, where it was reposted from the Somerville Journal:

A public hearing before the Board of Aldermen will be held Monday, June 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Aldermen’s Chambers at City Hall, 93 Highland Ave.

The hearing is on the Order of Alderman Maryann M. Heuston, chairman of the Committee on Finance, for public input on the proposed fiscal 2010 budget.

If you cannot make the above meeting, there is an online survey for residents regarding next year's budget & services at:
