Compost browns

I've come to learn my compost heap could benefit from more "browns," like dead leaves, dry grass, chipped wood or hay. (But not coffee grounds, which are considered "green.") I seem to be a little short of those right now. Does anybody have a small supply of browns in their yard they could contribute? I'm happy to come by with a rake and a bucket.

Best idea ever?

So, I'm walking up Holland away from Davis, and in that baseball park there there are a bunch of kids who appear to be handing out old fashioned orange life jackets. I'm curious, so I ask.

It turns out that they are part of "Operation Best Idea Ever" which it seems is to ride down the Charles in dingies.

Now, That sounds like fun, and it doesn't sound dangerous or anything, but "Best Idea Ever"? really? I mean, it's not a BAD idea per se, but I can think of many better ideas.

Also, it doesn't appear to have a web page. How can it be the best idea ever without a web page?
