There is another public safety committee meeting on the Maxpak site demolition on Monday. They flyered the neigborhood with a notice. I am out or town and don't have the notice with me, but my guess its at 6:30, same as last time.

From what I hear it will be a followup and continuation of the previous meeting. While public safety meetings don't normally allow public comment and questions, last time they did.

There's a sign on the fence saying buildings are coming down on or around Dec 1.

Can anyone please explain why city workers now receive 2 paid holiday days for Thanksgiving? And why I and my family were unable to access our city services on Friday, November 27th? City Hall was closed as well as the public library. It's annoying enough that the building where you must go to access your city's services closes every Friday at noon, now they are closed the day after Thanksgiving as well? This is where the term 'hack holiday' comes from, I guess!

I've had two failed attempts now trying to get good photo prints, once from Rite Aid (from films)in Davis and the other time online from Snapfish (from digital photos). Anyone had any luck bringing in a CD of photos anywhere in/around Davis and getting prints that weren't terrible looking, too dark/light or overly pixelated?

"With high hopes, the Globe endorses Alan Khazei, the prime mover behind national-service policies, as Massachusetts’ best chance to produce another great senator.

The 48-year-old Khazei offers a strong vision for success in the Senate, channeling the energy of activist groups and private-sector policy incubators while dedicating himself to the laborious task of building legislative coalitions.

He offers a time-tested and relevant example of this approach: his two decades of work bringing together politicians of both parties and citizen-activists to develop a national service plan. The recent service bill named for Kennedy and providing for 250,000 volunteers in a domestic Peace Corps is largely the fruit of his labors."
