One of my dance teachers is looking for a room to rent. The most she can afford is $600 plus utilities, or $700 including everything. If you have a room for rent or know someone who does, please message me. Comments screened, let me know if I ought to keep them so.

Bit o' Davis Square history
Dec. 17th, 2010 11:33 amOK, so this is completely random.
When trawling Etsy for Somerville-related stuff (I'm a Davis Square expat), I found this. The address of the place is that of Rosebud, or rather, the building just behind. It's still there (you can see one chimney here), as part of the Italian place. Pretty cool, no? Does anyone know anything about Jaunty Jack?

Hey guys! My family will be visiting from out of state for the holidays and I'm looking for some suggestions on what to do with them. There will be 8 of them and we have a fairly small place, so I want to find things to do that take us out of the house. My nephew is 2, so I'm especially interested in some local things that will keep him entertained. We don't have kids, so I'm not up on kid-friendly venues. I thought of the children's museum, but you guys must have some more suggestions than just that. Any help would be appreciated- my sister in law planned such a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend for us all that the bar has been set unfortunately high. I'd hate to be the slacker that didn't think of anything cool to do. :)
Assault on Porter St.
Dec. 17th, 2010 07:52 pmJust got an alert about an assault on Porter Street:
This is Deputy Chief Paul Upton of the Somerville Police Department with an important public safety message for residents in your area. Late Thursday evening, a 24 year-old woman was indecently assaulted as she walked on Porter Street near Peterson Terrace. The victim was grabbed from behind and assaulted before she screamed, apparently scaring off the suspect. The suspect then fled down Peterson Terrace toward Linden Street.
The suspect is described as a male, about 5’ 10”, wearing a dark blue ski jacket with a black patch on the left sleeve, blank pants and black shoes. He was wearing some type of black mask covering his face.
