Can you recommend a local person or business who provides career counseling/resume-writing services? And who is likely to be able to take on a short-notice resume-writing case? (not so much the career counseling thing at the moment--I have a specific job in mind.) I need someone whose mode would be to spend a fair amount of time talking through things before setting down to write, as my main problem at the moment is getting what's in my head articulated in writing, and I'm at a kind of paralyzed panic state.

Ideally it would be someone who could meet today, and deliver mid-week.

I am thinking of getting rid of cable in favor of watching things via roku, over the air HD etc.

I am just learning about this, I didn't even know there were over the air HD channels until the other day.

I currently have RCN for HD tv & DVR and "Mach 5" Internet. I just got a ROKU player, but I may trade it in for TIVO HD and get a digital antenna, but I'm not sure yet. I have a plasma, so I would like to get the best picture quality possible, I like having all the channels but mostly it's just background noise and I dvr network shows with a few exceptions.

I am wondering what set ups people are doing to get around cable? What works well in this area? There seem to be a lot of possible combos. Thanks.

I'm looking for local places that sell small animal pets, particularly rats. PetSmart is an option, but they only have naked rats. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Howdy neighbors,

We got the cat jungle-gym thingy depicted below the cut as a gift last year, but our picky kitty never really took a liking to it. Perhaps your furry friend would enjoy it more?

I've taken it apart, placed it in a cardboard box (also shown below), and left it on the porch of 24 Lexington Avenue in Somerville. I'll note here when I see that it's gone (or if someone tells me that they've taken it).

It requires assembly (the insertion of plastic tubes into plastic slots), and the instructions are long-gone, so you'll have to go by this picture I took as a guide. It isn't very hard, and I included its URL on the box.

Hi everyone,

Hopefully this won't be seen too much as spam.

I'm directing a production of Shakespeare's As You Like It in Davis Square, to be performed in September. While Theatre@First generally does indoor productions, paying for its expenses with ticket sales, this time we'd like to do an outdoor production, free of charge.

Sadly, it's not free to produce. So we're looking to raise some fundage. To this end, I've launched a Kickstarter project, which I hope you'll check out. Even a $5 contribution carries a small reward, and the rewards improve as you go up the chain.

If you've enjoyed Theatre@First and PMRP's productions in the past, please help us produce this one and bring it to a larger audience by contributing what you might ordinarily pay for a ticket!

Even if you've never seen us before, please help us bring what promises to be a magical, multi-media, SCUL-missioned, Firefly-artist-involved, burlesque-sprinkled, hilarious classic to Seven Hills Park.

Much appreciated! The project (and attendant video) is here.

At this point we have collected over 60 letters from neighbors supporting our efforts to prevent the subdivision of One Benton Road (see details below). Your signature on our petition will help show the Zoning Board of Appeals that Somerville residents do not support the project. Thanks!

MLM Realty Trust was denied permission to subdivide the land at One Benton Road by the Somerville Office of Strategic Development and Planning Board. They are appealing this decision to the Somerville Zoning Board of Appeals without having addressed any of the concerns that caused the initial decision. (more after cut)
