I realize that Lechmere is a bit far from Davis to be directly relevant here however there are two buses from Lechmere that serve Davis and although those buses as such are unaffected, I thought this was significant enough that it would be appropriate to post here.

According to signs posted at Lechmere this morning, the green line will be shut down between Lechmere and North Station starting on April 30 and continuing until "December." A shuttle bus will operate between Lechmere and North Station, presumably stopping near Science Park. This shutdown is to support construction (elevator installation) at Science Park.

From Boston Restaurants:

"An Indian and Nepali restaurant is planning to open in the Teele Square section of Somerville, moving into the space where a Thai restaurant used to be.

A check on the space over the weekend confirms that Masala is going to be opening on Broadway in the heart of the square, taking over the spot that was home to Tip Top Thai for about six years before it closed in the summer of 2010. Once it opens, Masala will join several other restaurants in the immediate area that feature Nepali cuisine, including House of Tibet in Teele Square, Yak and Yeti in Ball Square, Martsa on Elm in Davis Square, Kathmandu Spice in East Arlington, and Annapurna in North Cambridge.

Currently, there is no specific opening date for Masala; as soon as we get more information on when it might open, we will post an update here.

The address for this upcoming restaurant in Teele Square will be: Masala, 1127 Broadway, Somerville, MA, 02144."

I have some clothing, bed sheets, etc that aren't "lightly used" They are worn, some of them have holes, etc. Goodwill doesn't want them because evidently they have to pay to recycle unusable clothing, and I have no desire to make Goodwill PAY money...

I'm sure that *SOME* of my stuff is usable by someone, but I'm even more sure that the rest of it can be shredded and turned into rags, or futon stuffing, or something useful. Does anyone know where I can do this? My Google fu is weak, the Somerville web page doesn't appear to say anything useful, and MBTA just says not to leave them touching the 3rd rail...

does anyone have any suggestions?

ETA: I suppose some crafter might want them as well, but that seems less likely to me...
