There are signs posted on the window at the former Black & Blues location on Holland about a proposed wine & antipasto bar. So *this* is what the Dave's wine buyer was planning when she was sighted some time back in empty B&B by a DSLJ-er (not gonna dig up the link). I took a picture and it's not long so rather than paraphrase & comment I'm just transcribing:
Hello Neighbors,
Felisha Foster, wine buyer at Dave's Fresh Pasta, and proprietor, Dave Jick, are planning to open a neighborhood wine and antipasto bar next door at 89 Holland, formerly Black and Blues.
( rest behind cut, including info on a June 14 community meeting )
Me again: I think this could be great. I used to live in the very first house on Simpson, and when Mr. Crepe was where Dave's is now it stayed open later than Dave's does. Obviously that was smaller than this would be in terms of number of customers and staff size, but if this were being proposed when I lived there I think I'd have been in favor. I also always want Dave's sandwiches after they've closed. I like that they're thinking low-key and quiet - not the Foundry type trendy bar vibe that works in the heart of the square but not on the last commercial block before it's mostly houses.
