Thanks in part to the help of people in this community, As You Like It will go forward in Seven Hills Park in September, to be presented for free to the public. Now we just need actors!

The auditions page is up and we're taking appointments for auditions for Shakespeare's classic comedy, As You Like It!

We need people of all shapes, sizes, genders and colors to come out and help make this show great! Join us June 20 or 21st at Unity Church for auditions. Please prepare a 1-minute Shakespeare monologue (not from this play), an equally short song if you sing, and be prepared to do cold readings from the script (sides are available on the website). No resumes or headshots necessary, but provide them if you'd like.

Again, the auditions page is here.

All the world's a stage, so join us outdoors in Davis Square's own Forest of Arden, Seven Hills Park! In our first-ever free outdoor production, nature and technology collide as Rosalind, possibly Shakespeare's pluckiest cross-dressing heroine, flees her uncle's court to find her exiled father - and to test her true love. Featuring original music from The Pluto Tapes, special appearances from members of SCUL, and set and light artistry by long time Burning Man veterans Liz Manicatide and Carl Gruesz, this is the most ambitious Theatre@First production to date.

To be performed over one weekend, September 8-11, 2011.

Howdy, all!

On July 9, from 7-11pm, we will be having a massive party to celebrate our first anniversary, and to raise funds for our move into a larger space! Stay tuned for an announcement of the location.

At the end of the summer, we are moving from our current 9,000 s.f. space to one that is 25,000 s.f. - and about a 10 minute walk from the Red Line.

We will be expanding several of our existing craft areas, adding new equipment - like a laser cutter! ZOMG - and adding additional craft areas that we have not had the space for. We will also be renting out a significant portion of the space to people who want their own workspace/studio close to the tools and the action.

If you are interested in potentially renting space within our space, click here and fill out the survey, so that we can make the best arrangements possible for the expansion.

If you can't make it to the party, but would still like to donate, you can do that here.

Please pass this on to whomever you like - the full announcement is here on our site, and the Facebook event for the party is here.

Has anyone seen Pimm's No. 1 in any of the local liquor stores? This hot weather is really, really making me want a Pimm's Cup!

Thanks!

Update: Found it at Cambridge Wine & Spirits in Fresh Pond. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
