Has anyone ever seen a real scythe for sale around here? I'm looking for the farming kind, not the "grim reaper HALLOWEEN BOOO" kind. I'm either looking for a full outfit or the blades and snath sold separately. I'm hoping to find a place with a person who knows about this kind of thing, as it's a potential gift and not for me. I'm open to driving somewhere if need be.

Free drafting desk on Gorham St.
Jul. 4th, 2011 11:28 am Hi,
I've gotten a new desk to replace an adjustable height drafting table which is now on the curb towards the top of Gorham St (which is off Holland right by the Parking Office). It's in decent shape and has served me well as a computer desk for years. It's about 4' x 3' and can be carried by one moderately strong person.
It looks a lot like this:
http://www.amazon.com/drawing-craft-Table-Height-Adjustable/dp/B002YPSYXE/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1309792909&sr=8-10
First come first serve!

More stuff for sale - large CD shelf unit
Jul. 4th, 2011 02:53 pmI know this community has seen a lot of "take/buy my stuff" postings lately, so I feel a little guilty adding to the glut, but figure someone might not want to miss this amazing opportunity.
Though I'm not in Davis Square proper, I'm not too far away (near Magoun Square), and the particular item I'm pushing technically belongs to a true Davis Square denizen. Moderators please delete if this isn't cool.
FOR SALE:
surrealestate's humungous CD shelf unit that she loaned ages and ages ago, and now has no use for (sales proceeds will go to her, or be shared, or something like that). Picture and full description is on Craig's List: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/fuo/2473706654.html
I've suggested $75 there having no idea what folks might typically be willing to pay for a 1000+ CD holder, so it's negotiable.
Also, I won't be posting anything else for sale/giveaway here, but I am moving and am therefore getting rid of lots of stuff, much of which I have been and will be mentioning in my own journal, so feel free to email me or check in there if there's something you want that I might have.

got bookshelf?
Jul. 4th, 2011 11:48 pmWith everyone posting their giveaways, I'm on the other end, and figured I'd give it a shot here. I'm looking for a tall wooden bookshelf, maybe 6 shelves or so, with the width not to exceed 27". Any out there? Be happy to pay for it, and I can pick up anytime. Thanks!
