A tweet from the Somerville Journal (@VilleJournal) reads, in full:
City Hall planning to move Ward 6 Precinct 1 polling station out of Dilboy VFW, to Kennedy School. #Somerville
I know nothing more. The Somerville Journal (Wicked Local) web page has no story on this subject, nor could I find any official press release or statement on the city's web site. (Dear local journalists: Twitter is not a good substitute for actual news reporting.)

The Kennedy School is not even in Ward 6. It's on Elm Street in Ward 5, past the Shaw's shopping center.

(The Massachusetts presidential primary will be Tuesday, March 6. With contests only in the Republican and Green-Rainbow parties, I expect to see a record low turnout in Somerville.)

Hi Davis Square,

I'm going to post this on craigslist this weekend, but thought I would offer it here first, as you guys are always so great to me. I've gotten lots of free stuff this way, and would love to pass this on.

I have a wooden dresser that needs a new home. It is 5 drawers and probably about 4 feet tall, maybe 2 to 2 1/2 feet wide. I'm not at home now, so can't measure it. It's pretty solid, and looks kind of like dorm room furniture. It looks somewhat like this dresser from This End Up (http://www.thisendup.com/product/33/Classic5-DrawerBureau.htm#), but not exactly like it. The drawers were falling apart, and I have glued them all back together. The top part still needs to be glued. I think it will serve someone who needs a dresser for cheap very well.

please let me know if you are intesrested.

I've recently decided to sell off a portion of my gaming collection - at this point, I'm no longer using any of these items, and I could certainly use the spare cash and extra shelf space. The items for sale include my entire 4E collection as well as a selection of Dragon Magazines from the 2nd and 3rd Edition eras. I've listed the books and magazines below, together with my asking price for each, though I am willing to entertain lower offers. I would prefer to deal in cash and make the exchange in person, but I can also take a check or PayPal, and I'll ship the books to any customer willing to pay shipping prices. All of the books and magazines are in good condition, aside from some shelf/spine wear on some of them, and some minor dents on the back cover of the PHB. Please contact me privately at cassandra [dot] lease [at] gmail [dot] com if you're interested in purchasing any of these items.

Long list behind cut... )

Due to the vagaries of our health insurance, I need to switch my PCP to someone with Harvard Vanguard/Atrius Health or pay twice as much for copays, higher premiums, and all sorts of fun. Since the Davis office is closeby, I figure I'll just go there. Who do you like?

Ideally, I'd like a PCP who listens, is open to multiple approaches, and doesn't push drugs too hard.

(We're also looking for a ped there for the same reasons, though I've seen a lot more info on that. Still open to opinions if anyone wants to offer.)

Hi everyone!

Wanted to let you know about another dinner on Monday. The theme this month is Heat. As usual, we'll be at sprout's studios at 339R Summer St. We'll get started around 730PM. There's a $10 suggested donation, but all are welcome to join us for a spaghetti dinner, performances, and good conversation.

This month's performers include:
+ Ellen Anthony, a puppeteer performing a piece called Tin Fish
+ Daniel Bergey, talking about the art and science of weatherizing big buildings and introducing us to how people in his field make use of infrared cameras to do their job better
+ Joseph Bergen sharing a project he worked on with the cool folks at Zeega (http://zeega.org/) involving the hacking of thermal receipt printers--like those used at many grocery stores
+ folks from Parts and Crafts (http://partsandcrafts.org/) demo-ing a homemade Ruben's Tube, which creates a visual display of sound waves using fire
+ as well as some personal reflections on hot and cold...

Let me know if you have any questions!
