The MBTA's final recommendation includes a fare increase, but does not cut ETA: eliminate any bus, subway, or commuter train service in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington, or Charlestown.

Medford loses one bus route, the privately-run #710 which goes to, among other places, Lawrence Memorial Hospital. It is the only bus route serving that hospital.

ETA: In Cambridge, bus #351 to Burlington and Bedford Woods will have some reduction in service frequency.

Since April 1 is coming this weekend, just wondering if Tufts students or Davis locals traditionally do largish pranks on their own grounds or in nearby neighborhoods, kind of like MIT and Harvard do on campus. Should I make a special point of walking the area this Sunday? (Before starting my annual snipe hunt, of course.)

Hi neighbors!

I have a 2009 Diamondback Edgewood Performance/Sport Hybrid bike. It is navy blue and white. This bike has been used a total of 4 times, and then put in storage (inside, temp/humidity controlled) for 2 years. It simply needs some air in the tires and a basic tune-up, and it is ready to hit the ground running (cycling) in peak condition. Even the tires have their original tread. This is a medium size, 17" frame. I am 5'10", and it fits very well.

Here are the specs:

In just a few weeks, I'm going to be running the Boston Marathon to support cancer research at Dana Farber.  As part of my fundraising efforts, I will be hosting a yard sale with 100% of the proceeds going to Dana Farber.  If you are doing any spring cleaning over the next couple of weekends and have some items you would like to get rid of, please consider donating them to my yard sale.

If you'd like to donate, please send me an email at domermeg01[at]hotmail[dot]com and I will come pick up the items.  I only have a car, so I can't take anything that's bigger than the back seat of a Civic.

I live in the Davis area but the actual yard sale will be held at my parents' house in Melrose on Saturday, April 21st.

Thanks!

Just got the news from Cameras Inc that they are closing all their locations, including the one in Davis Square which they initially thought they'd be able to keep open. Full story (mostly about the Arlington store).

Their email also included this:

The College Avenue United Methodist Church, whose congregation used to occupy the huge stone church at College Ave. and Chapel Street, is moving to 149 Broadway in East Somerville. This is the former home of Mudflat Pottery, which has moved down the street to the old Broadway Theatre.

The College Avenue congregation sold its old church building two years ago to a Haitian congregation, the Holy Bible Baptist Church.
