Here is a repost about a great local org...we are closer to the ride so I figured it'd be alright to ask again:

A fantastic charity ride benefiting kids is seeking volunteers! It is an excellent volunteer experience and are a good fit for solo volunteers or those who want to volunteer with friends or family. Please contact me (Karin) directly at karin AT tugboat23.com if you’re interested.

Of course, you’re welcome to skip volunteering and just sign up to be a participant!

About volunteering at the CYCLE Kids Breakaway Charity Ride:

Date: Sunday, May 20th, 7 AM to 4 PM (ride is from 8 AM to noon; post-ride celebration and lunch is from noon to 3 PM)
Location: deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA.
Volunteer needs (partial list): pre-ride preparation (publicity, office work), rider registration, rider support, rest stops, lunch preparation, and clean-up

We’d be thrilled for Breakaway volunteers to commit to work the whole day, but we will work with your schedule. Volunteers will receive a simple breakfast, a Breakaway t-shirt, and a catered box lunch in thanks for their important efforts!

For more info or to register for the ride, please visit http://conta.cc/breakaway-2012
And, thanks! Enjoy the beautiful day.

There was a post last week about parking notifications. I thought I would share this email that I received from the BostonSweeper service that Boston.com has been running:

Hello,

Our records show that you are (or were) a subscriber to Boston.com's Boston Sweeper service. We're writing today to let you know that we've recently decided to suspend the service until further notice. Why? A few reasons, including recent changes to the street sweeping schedules in Boston and some general wear and tear over the last eight years that has left the service not as accurate or dependable as it should be.

We realize that the street sweeping season is underway, so here are some related resources that may help you keep track of when to move your car:

City of Boston street sweeping lookup

Cambridge street sweeping schedule

Somerville street sweeping (note, this is my link, the one from their email wasn't as good)

If you're interested in seeing Boston Sweeper return, please click here to take a brief survey.

Regards,
The Boston.com Team
