If you left, or stopped watching, the [livejournal.com profile] diesel_cafe community because it was being overrun by Russian spam, you can return to it now.

I sent a support request to the LJ Abuse Team about the community having an absent or inattentive maintainer, and LJ responded by appointing me as the new owner of that community. I changed the community settings to require people to be members of the community before they can make new posts there (as in [livejournal.com profile] davis_square).

I don't especially need to co-maintain another LJ community ([livejournal.com profile] davis_square is quite enough), so I'd be happy to turn it over to any Diesel employee or regular patron who can bring the community back to life. Before my recent abuse complaints, there hadn't been a new post there since May, 2009. Any takers?

Thanks to[livejournal.com profile] lyonesse and [livejournal.com profile] laryu for taking a ton of my slate, but there's still a bunch more, if anyone wants to take some (and by some I mean a carful or two - not an armful) it for a yard/garden project.

Failing that, does anyone know of a place that might just come by and fetch it? Even for a fee?

I also have a giant metal pole to get rid of, if anyone has had experience with a scrap metal hauler.

Thanks!

Forgive this blatant promotional post, but I wanted to let people know about Shulman & Hill, a small tutoring company based in Somerville & Needham. I'm doing some work for them coaching students writing their college application essays but their primary focus is standardized test preparation (AP and SAT) and tutoring (in History, English, Math, and Physics). You can find more at shulmanandhill.com.

They're offering a back-to-school referral bonus special: Refer someone who books 5 sessions, get 1 free for yourself. If you or a friend have a high-school student, check them out. They've got excellent references and highly qualified tutors.
