The North Cambridge Family Opera is again assembling a chorus of
children and adults to perform as part of the Cambridge Science
Festival. This is a wonderful opportunity for adults and young
people to sing together.

Our family has participated in the science festival chorus with the North Cambridge
Family Opera for several years, and it's a lot of fun if you like science, or singing, or both!
It's in neighboring Cambridge but rehearsals are quite convenient from the Davis Square area, at
the Peabody School on Rindge Ave near Porter Square.

Short form:
it's a multigenerational chorus for both kids and adults
We sing original songs about science in multi part harmony
kids 5-11 should have an adult participating, teens and adults don't need a kid chaperone.
attend an open rehearsal January 28 and/or February 4, 6-7:30pm
continue Tuesday evenings from February through April
sing in two concerts at the end of April (the last weekend of school vacation week.)

Full details behind the cut.

Mimi Graney says:

"Relish Center for Urban Agriculture in Union Sq closed in December and we're holding an Everything Must Go Sale on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. Lots of bee, chicken and garden supplies, canning stuff, and furnishings like an awesome butcher block counter, folding tables, stackable chairs, hot plates, and more."

Relish is in Sanborn Court (the alley between The Independent and Bronwyn restaurants in the heart of Union Square).

I found this commentary interesting and it's right in Davis Square!

http://www.boston.com/community/blogs/askthepilot/2014/01/a_somerville_tree_saga_redefin.html

As a landlord who had to cut back a dying tree or have my insurance cut off (as a letter from the insurance company threatened), I have mixed feelings about this commentary and the author's suggestions. At the same time, I have three other healthy trees in my backyard I wouldn't touch.
