Today the city announced a series of critically important zoning meetings that will shape the future of the city. These meetings will be held in Assembly Square, which is the least accessible location to anyone who gets around by public transit, bicycle, or on foot, of any location within Somerville City limits.

You can tell them what you think about this at: www.somervillebydesign.com

Yes, you can get there by bike, but it's dangerous and difficult to do so to anyone except a very experienced commuter. You can walk there, by utilizing a cross-walk that is unlit in the middle of a highway off ramp, or by walking an additional mile down to a dark highway underpass. You can get within a tenth of a mile of it by bus, with at least one transfer from most places in the city. Does this sound reasonable to you?

Tom and I are planning a Yard Sale on Saturday, June 21st from 10 to 1 and Sunday the 22nd from 4 to 7.

RAIN DATE for either day will be Monday the 23rd from 3 to 6 - 32 Vinal Avenue

We are drastically down sizing to move completely into our first floor with an addition for a bedroom in our plans. We have something for everyone including vintage, antiques, collectibles, furniture, books and household items. More reminders and details will be forthcoming. Thank you!

I will comment the details as Celia posts them! ~ Courtney

Has anyone ever used one of those pod-type moving things for a local move? We are moving soon and it feels like it'd be easier to be able to pack incrementally into those, but I don't know if it's worth the added cost. I'm hoping somebody else has done a thorough comparison of the various pod companies already. :) This would be just to move locally, not to store in between.

Posting for Robin Moore (robin@mindspring.com) whose computer is playing up.  Mine (my phone) isn't being much more helpful.  If this lands in my personal journal, could someone please repost it to davis-square?  Thanks!

My cat Romeo, who I haven't had for very long, has gone AWOL, and in case he somehow managed to get out, please keep an eye out for him. He's an approximately 6-year-old brown tabby cat w/green eyes, with a bit of white on the chin, slightly tattered ears (he's a rescue cat), and seriously polydactyl--he has 7 toes on his front paws, and 5 on his back paws. He can be very friendly, but is still very skittish and easily spooked.

If you see him, please contact me ASAP at 617-776-6257 (home/evenings) or 617-501-6698 (cell). I'm starting a temp job tomorrow and won't be home, so if you see him between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. during the day, please call the cell number, and, if you can, try to lure him in and hold him for me, OK?
