Hi- I have to go to a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting for a special permit to expand an existing deck. I was just wondering if anyone knows what sorts of things they ask in these meetings?

The Post-Meridian Radio Players' summer radio mystery theatre show Super Sleuths opens tonight! We have mysteries for Hercule Poirot, Lady Molly of Scotland Yard, and Sherlock Holmes to sink their teeth into, with costumed voice actors in front of microphones onstage and live sound effect creation at the Foley table. All shows are at Responsible Grace church at the south end of Davis Square, with performances tonight, tomorrow afternoon and evening, and this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.

See details at http://srt14.pmrp.org .

You can get tickets at http://tickets.pmrp.org . And, until we run out, you can get half-price tickets at http://www.goldstar.com/events/somerville-ma/summer-radio-mystery-theatre-super-sleuths .

We have enjoyed our time living in and near Davis, but we are off to new adventures on the West Coast. We have posted on craigslist, asking $100 for the sofabed and $20 for the table, but are willing to be very flexible with those prices, as we are unable to take them with us when we move. Please message me through craigslist if you are interested. Thank you!

In going with this whole moving thing, I would muchly like boxes appropriate for moving. Things the size of paper boxes up to much larger ones, though not fridge size since we're not moving the fridge. I have a hatchback and twine, so I can take a fair number and reassemble them at home with the power of tape.

I have some extra garbage to put out on Monday, namely a mattress and bed parts. Unfortunately, I forgot to call it in to City Hall until just now and they told me it was too late for Monday. How anal retentive is Somerville garbage pickup about that sort if thing?

Just an update: my cat Romeo, who managed to get out the living room window and went walkabout for a month, just came home tonight--he's been hanging out in the neighborhood all along (we got lots of reports of sightings, plus my roommate and I saw him a couple of time), nomming on all the cat food I (and a number of neighbors) leave out for stray cats. Tonight I first saw him on the other side of the screen door as I came into the kitchen, and talked to him a bit before he ran off; a little while later he came back (after I'd propped the door open) and, after a couple of false starts, ran into my room, at which point the door was rapidly closed! A calming treat and some tuna later, he seems to be doing OK, and once my roommate gets home, we'll see about getting his new collar on him. Thank you SO much to everyone who read my flyers, kept an eye out, or just thought good thoughts that my little stinker would be OK!

On a related note: anyone know of a pet groomer/any particularly brave person who would agree to make a house call to trim Romeo's nails? He's a polydactyl w/very sensitive feet who gets EXTREMELY irate when anyone messes with his feet, but during his month on the run, his claws have become razor-sharp, and since he can't quite retract all of them, well...it gets rather painful to be on the receiving end of his biscuit-kneading. Suggestions, brave offers of assistance, etc. welcome!
