Going grocery shopping today? Whether you're getting snacks for your Super Bowl party, stocking up on french toast supplies for the upcoming storm, or just regular Sunday shopping, in any case Girl Scout cookies will make it all better. ;) Somerville Brownies troop 66099 will be at the Star Market in Porter Square selling cookies today from 11am until 5pm (while supplies last).

Did you know that several of the most popular Girl Scout cookie flavors are now vegan? We'll also have a limited number of gluten-free cookies available. So come on out and buy local -- okay, the cookies may not be locally produced, but the girls are. :)

The City is declaring a snow emergency effective at 10 p.m. tonight, Sunday, Feb. 1. During snow emergencies, parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street only (unless otherwise posted). Cars not moved from the even-numbered side of the street by 2 a.m. Monday may be ticketed and towed. Residents may also park in any municipal lot or in designated school parking lots as soon as possible today since there is no regular parking enforcement on Sundays.

A map of available parking lots, and additional snow emergency information is available at http://www.somervillema.gov/snow .

Please also note that trash pickup will continue on a regular schedule on Monday.

I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in Arlington, Medford, or Somerville. Arlington
Center is my first choice, but I'll consider anyplace in Arlington, Medford, or West Somerville.

I only have a few deal breakers:
-- It must get good natural light.
-- It must be either on the first floor or in a building with an elevator.
-- Both the apartment and the house/building must be well maintained.
-- It must have off-street parking.
-- There must be laundry in the building (coin-op is ok.)
-- It must be at least 500 square feet.
-- It must be quiet. I don't mind car traffic, but I don't want to be near
loud parties.
-- Rent must be $1400 or less with heat included (or lower rent if heat
isn't included.)

Beyond that there are plenty of things I'd like, but I'm willing to
compromise.

A bit about me:
My name is Julie, I'm 35, and I've been living in the same apartment in
Somerville for almost 9 years. I have also lived in other areas of
Somerville and in Medford (and in other towns outside this area.) I live
alone, I don't have pets, and I don't smoke. I pay my rent on time every
month. I am quiet and I don't throw loud parties. Sometimes I'll invite a
friend or two over to chat, knit, and play board games. I'm friendly,
smart, and caring. I love spending time with my nieces and nephews and I do
volunteer work whenever I can. One day I hope to own my own home so I can
get a couple of dogs, but for now I'll forego the pets so I can live in
your lovely apartment. I can provide references if you need them and I have
fantastic credit.

bite-hdrLike art, food is a visual, sensory and social experience. Flavors and textures, aromas and taste are all elements that can be explored through artwork. Culture, memories and health are just some themes that can be viewed through the lens of food. Bite is an exploration of art made with food, art about food and/or food about art.
