Hi,

Where should I go for a massage in the area?

Nothing too crazy, but I do prefer tranquil surroundings, so Massage Therapy on Elm doesn't do it for me (although they are great for theraputic massages!).

I can go anywhere in Davis, Porter, or somewhere in walking distance.

Thank you!

Pet

The only place I know of within walking distance apart from Elm is Hands On Health in Porter Square...but they've got the same kind of surroundings as Massage Therapy on Elm. I'm not entirely sure if there is another place to get a great massage that hasn't got the same surroundings as Massage Therapy on Elm.

I've added a tag, which you may find useful for looking at earlier posts on the subject.

I'm a massage therapist, but my practice is in Inman Sq. Just over in Teele, I like Centering Touch (www.centeringtouch.com) for quiet peaceful serene type work.

I've heard really good things about Inman Oasis, but they're a bit out of range, being in Inman Square. http://www.inmanoasis.com/

This.

To the OP: Inman Oasis is awesome. Well worth the trip if Inman Square is doable for you.

I'll third that recommendation. Definitely worth a visit.

I agree on the Inman Oasis recommendation.

I was given a gift certificate there and at first was not sure what was going on, it's in a weird spot, but it was amazing!

Sollievo on Mass Ave in North Cambridge is worth checking out, and just a short walk up the bike path from Davis-> www.sollievo.org . I highly recommend Kris Quinones (who also works at Massage Therapy Works on Elm).

i've heard they are really good as well.

i just got a massage last monday at massage therapy works (i know you ruled it out already, but wanted to give a shout out) and got a massage from Pat. It was probably one of the best massages i've ever had.

Sollievo has an extremely lovely and tranquil space, too. Mass Ave is just a stone's throw from Davis!

Lauren at Healthworks in Porter Square is a massage genius - and you don't have to be a member to get a massage there (though you do have to be female). Also, I don't know if this is important to you, but Healthworks offers full benefits to all their full-time bodywork people, and that's another reason I try to bring my business there.

That's awesome that they even hire folks full time. I know a lot of bodyworkers who aren't so lucky, and ply their trade a few hours a week in several different spas, making them not full-time enough in any one place to qualify. I'm self-employed as a bodyworker at the moment and am really lucky to have health insurance through my domestic partner's employer. I live right near the Healthworks in Porter Square, I'll have to try them some time.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Elizabeth Grady on Boston St. They also have a student session there every Fridays for only 30 bucks for an hour session. They're just about to graduate and do a fantastic job...I highly recommend it.
