Is there a place in Somerville that does good, baked-there-in-the-store scali bread?

I'm often in between Davis and Magoun squares, but anywhere in town would be fine. Lyndell's is amazing for sweets, but I just miss the place from my hometown that had good loaves and rolls.

Try the Winter Hill Bakery on Broadway across from the Star Market. They're open from 6-6 on weekdays.

I don't know about that particular type of bread, but HiRise bakery at Huron&Concord in Cambridge has some amazing breads.

You could try La Ronga, on Somerville Ave., just outside of Porter Sq.

They're a commercial bakery, but they have a walk-in store too.

It's the Roma bakery, and although it's a commercial bakery, you can buy break there. They make a melt in your mouth Scali, so yes, it's Italian. Hours are hit or miss.

Hello-
I'm a born and raised Bostonian musician who recently completed a 2 year stint in NYC. Even before then, I had images of eventually living in/near Davis Sq. dancing through my head.
I'm not moving immediately, but I just thought I'd check in here to say 'hello' and perhaps communicate with some households that are potentially low-priced, sane, friendly, etc..
