I live near the corner of Pearson Avenue and Kidder and a grey cat has been hanging round for the past few days. My roommate remembers seeing a 'Missing Cat' flier on the bike path some time last week, but she just walked over to retrieve the flyer and it was gone. I searched through old entries on here but did not see anything reflecting this cat.

Anyways, we think it's a girl, she's a medium shade of grey (like a Russian Blue), and I would estimate her weight at around 10 pounds. If she's yours, send me a pm or an email to my roomie to priyatotaram (at) hotmail (dot) com. We fed her and she skittered away, but most likely she'll be back.

She probably belongs to the young girl who lives in the 75 - 85 range of Boston Ave. (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=&q=91+boston+ave+somerville+ma&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS258US258&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=91+Boston+Ave,+Somerville,+MA+02145&gl=us&ei=oyn_S5ToHYH88AaNmKDZDQ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBcQ8gEwAA), right around the corner from where you live.

I used to live a couple houses down from her family, and I routinely encountered that cat walking home from the T, often down as far as Kidder Ave.

I did not know it belonged to her until I saw her carrying it one day. I asked for the cat's name, and she told me, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is right now.

The best bet is to go to that range of Boston Ave. and look for the unique older gentleman with the long white hair who often wears a Celtics jersey and drives the red Mazda Miata. (typ. parked there on the west side of the street). Chances are, he'll be out washing the car if it is nice this weekend. He is friends with all the children that live in the houses nearby. He'll know the details, and if the cat is missing, or wandering, and how to put you in touch with its owners.

I hope this helps.

my boyfriend's housemates (who live right in davis) have two small russian blue type cats, but long-haired. one is female. they both tend to lean towards being more outdoor cats than indoor cats (I hate it, but they're not mine). They do always come home (sometimes after days and days), but I wouldn't be surprised if your stray was one of those cats.

Here is the info on the missing cat poster that was around Ball square. I had posted to another person who found a cat -- maybe *this* is the right cat now:

"I found a cat missing poster outside my house for a cat that sort of looks like the one you have. Her name is Pixie, has white paws and is a 6-year-old female. The e-mail address on the poster is gkwall27@comcast.net."
