B&E attempt at 49 Dover St - fire escape

Somerville Police units were dispatched to 85 Perkins St.late Friday evening for a possible attempted breaking and entering call.

Police units searched the apartment building and the entire area for an alleged suspect described as a black male dressed in all black clothing and wearing a black cap.

Moments later, Somerville Police received a second report from a caller that they observed another possible attempted B&E by a suspect that fit the same description but this time at 49 Dover St.

The caller stated that the suspect was at the rear of the Dover St. building climbing up the fire escape and allegedly trying to break into the second floor window.

Somerville Police are investigating both incidents.

If your apartment or condo has a window leading to a fire escape, please make sure it is locked when you are not home or are asleep.
