Would you like a free custom t-shirt? You can get one if you'd like...

My company puts on a annual event called the T-Shirt Day and as part of the celebration we throw a big party and give away free custom t-shirts. Although our company is located in downtown Boston and this event has nothing to do with Davis Square I thought I'd share this with you if you're interested in getting a free custom t-shirt.

Basically all you have to do is go to t-shirtday.spreadshirt.com and design your own tee before June 14 (instructions are on the site).   You will have to pick it up at our T-Shirt Day Party, at the Alibi Bar and Lounge at the Liberty Hotel, on June 21, between 4-7.  We're going to have a big hoopla that's going to include t-shirts (of course), complimentary cupcakes from Kickass Cupcakes and beverages (no open bar). There is no credit card required, you don't even need to enter your real address and there is no "catch".  If you don't feel like hanging out at our party you can just grab your shirt and go home.

The only reason I'm sharing this here is because I want to share the love with my Somerville neighbors.

cool idea!

Thanks! I have designed a great one, but i never came to the field where I was to enter the coupon code. I'm reluctant to add my credit card info ... do you have to in order to see that field?

I remember this from last year's event. Thanks so much -- I had fun creating my shirt today!

If this is too much Q&A for a free t-shirt that's totally cool, but what are the limitations here? For example, can I have words printed on top of a design? I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed message -- this is awesome. I do have text on top of a vector-based design, and I think I'll submit it that way and see how it comes out. Hey, it IS free! :)

Thanks again!!!!

OK, PM'ed you. Also shared this on FB and with my office. Folks are excited. It's so funny -- I actually just found this site a few weeks ago, and was planning to make something anyway, so it totally works out. Thanks again!

Wait, Kickass Cupcakes is from Davis Square, right? That makes this post totally relevant to Davis. Free Kickass cupcakes is something many Davis Squares are happy to travel a bit for... :-)

If I design a shirt and spreadshirt prints it, who owns the rights to the design after that?

It seems to be mostly moot, since from what I can tell you can't actually upload a design of your own -- you have to use their clip art and fonts.

(Of course, I discovered this *after* spending an hour or two working on a design for myself...)
