Curious if anyone has heard of what sort of events will be going on in the greater Davis area restaurants and pubs for the first weekend of World Cup action? Particularly USA/ENG on Saturday.

This is not Davis Square but may fit under the vague "greater" label but House of Blues will have a massive viewing part for the US-England game. The city of Boston plans to have an even more massive outdoor viewing of the final in City Hall plaza.

Personally, I love some of the soccer bars around here but if I care about a game I would avoid crowds and watch privately (I love the Phoenix landing but unless I can get to a big game early it gets too crowded).

Precinct and Independent in Union Square were both full of USA Soccer fans this afternoon. At Precinct, everyone yelled U-S-A and cheered as if we had actually won rather than just tied.
