State to Hold Green Line Extension Meeting at Somerville High Monday, January 24

"Mayor Joe Curtatone today announced the state has decided to hold a community meeting regarding the proposed extension of the Green Line to Somerville on Monday, January 24th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Somerville High School auditorium."

"More than a decade ago, the state agreed to the Green Line extension and several other mass transit projects in return for the go ahead to build the Central Artery Tunnel.  In recent months, the MBTA has floated alternative ideas to extending the line, citing a lack of financial resources.  It also is reconsidering other agreements, including the Arborway extension into Jamaica Plain and the connector between the Blue and Red Line.  Like the State House hearing, Monday’s meeting will consider all three projects."

last i heard, the proposed blue-red connection was going to be an extension of the silver line - bus. :\ i hope they will connect the blue-red by train; it'll make traveling to/from the airport much easier.
