I need to order pizza tonight to be delivered to my house near Davis Square.

The primary goal is a cheap good cheese pizza that both children and adults will enjoy (so not too heavily spiced, but not too greasy either.) The place needs to be able to handle a large order (like 8 pizzas) in a timely fashion. Cheap toppings are a bonus but not necessary.

Where would you order from?

Update - Went with Pinky's, using http://www.pinkyspizzatogo.com/ and it was tasty, hot, and ontime. 3 large one toppings for $24 made chipping in easy, too!

http://www.pinkysfamouspizza.com/ Plus you can order online, which reduces the likelihood of order confusion.

do they deliver to davis? I had pinky's once as part of a glass blowing class in N. Cambridge, and the instructor had to go pick it up? Maybe i'm confused, though, is this the place in harvard square? (I will now go click the link and answer my own question)

I can't stand their new site. Their old site, http://pinkyspizzatogo.com is usually (but not always) available, though.

Pinky's is our go-to also. We have a zillion coupons though I'm not sure what they would to to apply those to an order of 8+ pies. ;-)

Pinky's is my usual standby.

Mmmmm, Pranzi's: http://www.pranzis.com/. Fresh dough, not too spicy or greasy. Soooo good.

Pini's is the least greasy pizza I am aware of in the area.

We use Pini's for large orders...they had a deal where 5 or more pizzas are only $5 a piece, and $1 for toppings, so we could get 5 pizzas (one cheese, four with one topping) for $29, so ask them about that.

Pini's is our household default.

pini's is our go to pizza, but we always get a specialty pizza, so i don't know how the plain cheese pizza is. the buffalo chicken, ranch bacon and chicken, and mexicana are all great, though.

A DSLJ poll from 2008, although this wasn't about take-out and was limited to places within a mile of the Square.

I'm a huge fan of Jumbo's as well, but they're definitely on the spicy and greasy side and so probably not what [livejournal.com profile] chenoameg is looking for.

I was going to suggest Zings pizza because it's so healthy/not greasy/delicious but they're so expensive!

but so delicious... and really a good size (though not your typical thick crust)... but i agree, a bit on the pricey side, especially if you need to get a lot of them...

I've had their pizza twice and both times it's been sucky. :( The first time, the bacon was totally raw and the second, my pepperoni pizza was burnt beyond recognition. I love Jumbo's deeply for everything else, but their pizza has been fail city.

oh yikes. i've been looking for a really good white pizza (that has cheese and tons of garlic, obv) and been wanting to try theirs but maybe i'll stick to the burgers and all the delicious apps instead...

Theo's Pizza in Teale is a good place for large orders, good size pizzas, quick delivery times and their side orders are huge. (617 666 8232)

I'm also a big fan of Dial-a-Pizza, mainly becuase they have a bazillion toppings available. (617 868 6100)

I like DaP for their toppings, but the crust tends to be soggy by the time they get to me (Ten Hills), so I ask them to not cut the pizza, and I throw it on a pizza stone in my oven for ten minutes.

Adam's of Medford has been my new fav for about six months. A light sprinkle of parmesan across the top of extra pizza is their special flourish, and dang, the peperoni tastes amazing with that. They also take special instructions well - I've been getting them to make quattro staggioni with a good deal of success, for example.

Available via foodler, their own website, as well traditional means.
