One-month permit for rental cars?

Has anybody gotten this permit before? It's on the city website but it doesn't say much about it. Specifically, I'd like to know if this is something that has to be registered to the car, or if this is a "floating" permit like the visitors passes are; i.e. do you have to pick up the rental car before you can apply for the permit?

Since it doesn't say something like "in the proximity of his/her residence" (like the limited location ones) presumably yes.
But you'd really be better off asking 311/T&P, don't you think?

(I looked into this permit at one point but didn't wind up getting one, so I don't know this part from personal experience, obviously someone else might.)

I used it just like I have used a permanent window sticker decal, and was not ticketed for doing so. I realize that doesn't *quite* answer the policy question, but I'm not sure about the written regulation. Anyway, i think you'll be fine.
