Tip-Top Thai in Teele Sq., closed

 Looks like Tip-Top Thai in Teele Sq. (1127 Broadway) has closed. There is a FOR RENT sign in the window. Any info about prospective new tenants? I'd love to see something great come in.

This showed up in Boston Restaurant Talk and Grub Street about a week ago. I can't say I'll miss it.

yeah i really wanted to like them, and was excited to have a sushi chef so near by. but much like their neighbor amelia's the food just wasn't that good, especially for the price.

lets beg teele square cafe to re-open in that spot.

I've always enjoyed Amelia's! er, since, according to their sign, nearly 15 years ago. They were the "new" Italian place when I moved to Teele Square, trying to lose the image of being a pizza joint with a soda fridge next to the counter. :)

The last time I was in Amelia's the only other customer was mayor Joe and some friends of his. Somerville had just won the All-American City award and they were reminiscing about this, All sorts of random people kept dropping in and saying hi.

It's the only place I'd ever ordered Thai noodles and been served ziti with Thai sauce.

Much agreed - I really wanted to like it, but it was sort of creepy on the inside. The takeout wasn't bad, but not great either.

Anyone remember what was there before? I was living in the area but can't recall. Ron?
