Signature collecting for Jill Stein

Hello all,

At ArtBeat in Davis this weekend, Green Rainbow Party volunteers are going to be walking around collecting signatures so that the Green Rainbow Party gubernatorial candidate, Jill Stein, can qualify to run for governor.

If you are interested helping this great candidate qualify to be on the ballot, I hope you'll stop and sign your name!

No matter who you're pulling for, having the voice of the Green Party in this race promises to shake things up!

And if you want to help collect signatures yourself, I know the help would be appreciated. You can find out more here. You can also message me via LJ if you want to join up with a bunch of existing locals (Camb/Som) to collect signatures.

I'll take that as a "no" and count myself lucky for not having a reason to go leaflet against Jill Stein right along side her signature collectors and thus being free to enjoy art-beat.

No, he now vociferously denounces everyone involved with the party as fascists, etc., because they do not share his views about Zionism being the world's One True EEEEEvil.

So I would suggest that a vote for the Green Rainbows is a vote against David Rolde. Especially if it's a vote for Jill Stein!

(I am not a G/R supporter myself, but to dismiss the whole party because of one very public hateful person who had a brief affiliation with it doesn't seem logical.)

It's the No Platform principle. Some people cross a line with their rhetoric, at which point it becomes impossible to support anyone who even shares a platform with them.

I see the G/R have in fact no-platformed Rolde. I wasn't asking just to be annoying. The things Rolde has been megaphoning in Boston in recent weeks made my question a necessary act of due diligence. That done, I will be signing the ballot petition.

I don't get that. Can't anyone register under any party or designation they choose? Aren't there people who have crossed the line affiliated with every party, by their own choice? What sense is there in deciding not to support anyone who running with that party label?

He did hold internal offices within the GR party in the past. That's more than just registering.

I'm just surprised that Rolde's attacks on his former party and party mates didn't cross your radar as well--he is pretty vociferous about them.

But I do see your point; if he and the G/R Party hadn't mutually repudiated each other, I would certainly question their judgment.

Who is David Rolde?

He is someone who would probably describe himself as a pro-Palestinian activist, but whose rhetoric many people (including me) perceive as anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish, not just anti- the policies of the current Israeli government.

At one time some years in the past he was involved in some official capacity with the G/R Party. They have since repudiated him, and he they.
