Does anyone know where I can buy powdered WHOLE milk locally? Nonfat is the norm but I need whole. Nestle Nido is a common brand.

Nimah Market on the corner of Mass Ave and Rindge stocks Nido in two sizes.

I usually buy it at Market Basket. They have both Nestle Nido and Nestle Klim, which seem to be exactly the same thing. I usually buy the cheaper one.

Super 88 (or whatever they're called now) used to have it too, but I've not been in a while.

The bulk dried milk at Harvest Co-op is, if I recall, whole.

one of those people didn't know what you were talking about. the problem is, there's no way of knowing which one. that's why i hate calling places like that for things that aren't 'normal' to them. much easier to go by someone actually having seen it there. glad you found what you needed :)

The last time I bought some there was about 2 months ago. It's on the top shelf 2/3 of the way to the back of the store on the right in the tea and coffee aisle.

Which Market Basket did you go to? The one in Union Square has it in the aisle with Brazilian and Latino foods; it's about two thirds of the way down that aisle (from the front of the store), on the right, past the Goya spices, next to Milo and other powdered drinks.

A little late to the party, but...

I'd be cautious about purchasing dried milk, particularly whole, if it's not sealed in airtight packaging. Milkfat can go rancid (i.e., oxidize) pretty quickly (this is why old unsalted butter had that weird ring around the outside). Harvest probably has pretty good turnover in their bulk section, but you'd want to take a good whiff of it to make sure it smells "normal." Also, if it's not sealed airtight, try to buy only what you need and store it in the fridge or freezer.
