New Juice Bar

Hi guys -

Not exactly in davis, but up medford st. near sycamore, a tiny place called Acai Juice Bar opened up this week. It's run by two Brazilian sisters who are so nice, they say in Brazil there is a place like this on every corner.

We've been there twice already and it's inexpensive, tiny, friendly, delicious. I wonder if they'll be able to make it. We're doing our part.

What do they sell?

They have different kinds of blended juices and smoothies that they make to order in blenders using fresh fruit and/or packages of tropical fruit pulp. They mix the fruit with oj or milk, honey, granola, etc. They have other additives too like chocolate syrup, peanut butter, guarana extract, etc. The juice blends are all $3-4.50, depending on what they are. Oh, there are a few pricier ones with quail eggs in them.

They also list some very inexpensive sandwiches (ham and cheese, $2.80, how can that be?) that I haven't tried. And yesterday they had one of those hot boxes with a few single portion things - one looked like lasagna, and the other was chicken with a batter fried outside shell.

They don't have posted hours yet but we've been going in the late afternoon, and they seem to be open every time I drive by.

Thanks for the heads-up! I live right by there and have been wondering when they would open -- hadn't noticed they actually did. :)

Thanks! I saw that when it was still in the "opening soon" stages, and hadn't realized it was open. Nice to have the recommendation, too.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that they were open yet. Live right around the corner and have been very intrigued by their concept! Maybe I'll stop by on my way home tonight since they're right on the 80 bus route.

Their hours are 10am-7pm, closed Sundays.
