Some time in the last three weeks, while I was away, a construction crew dug up the section of Seven Hills Park just behind the Holland Street T entrance. The area is fenced off, including the stairs from Meacham Road.

Who is doing this construction and what are they building? There were no workers around when I walked by, but it was after 5 pm and raining.

Gah, for a bit I was trying to spatially reconcile those two photos. >_<

(I know where both are, but my brain was insisting that they had to be from the same construction site.)

I love that the fence divides the three statues, making it an even more bizarre statement. the woman is behind the fence, looking on in a concerned fashion, while the man stares sternly at the cowering mime. awesome!

A couple of days ago there was a "Free Speech Zone" sign on the fence in front of the woman, adding a layer of political commentary to the poignant tableau.

Taken from a crummy cameraphone. By the time I was back around with an actual camera in tow, the sign had predictably vanished.

I am hoping, without any actual information, that it's something that will improve the drainage of that section of the path.

Today there were some wooden forms laid out for concrete or bricklaying or the like, and it seems pretty clear that they're making a ramp from the plaza area down to Meacham, where the stairs had been.

That path (Meecham to the back of the station) is/was pretty dangerous in the winter, I remember seeing more than one person slip and fall there when I lived behind there.
