Any suggestions on where I can park to see the movie at Powder House Park tonight? I'd prefer to avoid getting a ticket, or parking at Alewife. Besides, I need to get my cupcakes in Davis Square first...it is my birthday!

EDIT: For future reference, Broadway between Route 16 and Powderhouse Square is permit only. Broadway on the other side of the square is, at least in the beginning, 2-hour parking. No meters, just signage. Parking overnight requires a permit. I also noted the same signage on College Ave near the park...not sure where it switches, or if it is 2-hour signed parking its entire length from Davis Square to Powderhouse Square.

I think Broadway and College Ave (and maybe Powder House Blvd?) allow visitors to park without a permit. Also, Medford starts about 2 blocks away, down Warner St (which becomes Harvard St across the city line)

The non-metered spots on Broadway and College are 2-hours-only until 2:30am. (I think the meters are free after 8pm?) However, I live on Broadway and have had several visitors (on several different occasions) park all evening without permits and not get tickets. I don't know if the city is unofficially not enforcing the evening restrictions, or if my visitors just got lucky.

The cops pretty much don't look at Bristol, Pearson or Bromfield.. and Boston ave is even legal at parts. I illegally parked there for years and years with only probably a handful of tickets. Bristol is your safest bet as the whole thing is Medford. Avoid Tufts as some of that is school parking, and it seems to be safe after 6, but I'm more scared of it.

Bromfield is Somerville, and I've gotten several tickets there, for having an expired residential sticker and also a visitor permit (I was a former resident visiting friends). Which doesn't necessarily mean they will give out tickets for plain non-resident parking, but I'm pretty sure it's not true that "the cops don't look at Bromfield".

well my statement was the cops in MEDFORD do not look there. I wasn't sure exactly where the line is, but the point is MEDFORD.

What do the signs say on Bristol, St Clements, and Boston Ave? Are you supposed to have a Medford permit?

I checked the signs. Boston Ave, and the right side St Clements along the school, have no permit restrictions.
