Kennel recomendations?

Hi All,

I have to go out of town for about 10 days and I need to find a good dog kennel for my highly active, 70 lb dog. Can anyone recommend anything? I'm willing to drive out of the city if I needed to take her some place were they have room to let the dogs play. The catch is, I'm trying to keep the kennel fees as low as possible. Last time I kenneled her I was in Texas and it was $10 a day and she was on a farm and it was perfect. Is there anything like that here?

Unfortunately, most of the kennels I've found are extremely expensive, booked far in advance and not so nice. I use a pet sitting service called All Creatures Great and Small. If you'd like their information, I'll give it to you. Patty, the woman who runs the place, will do overnight stays (40 a night...less for one dog, I think) or will take your dog home for overnights. She also runs active dogs up to 5 miles a day. She's a no nonsense great lady and my dog loves her. Used to have two that loved her, but we had to put one down recently. : (

Anyway, that's what I have to offer if you're interested.

Here's a list I compiled a year or so ago, so I can only verify that the top two are correct.

Ones I've used:
Happy Tails – 781-396-4348 - They pick up the dogs every day and take them to Stoneham for a playgroup. They come back happily exhausted. Have used them for boarding for the last year. I think it's about $30/night?

Tails are Wagging 781-388-9986 231 Broadway Malden - Full-time no-cage kennel. the dogs sleep on couches and have someone on hand 24 hours a day. looks like dog camp. can't remember price, but was reasonable for the area.

Others:
Walkabout (in Stoneham w/ lots of run area) – Had trouble getting them to call me back anytime I needed boarding, but was told they have the biggest area for active dogs.
