Tags offers these great folding stackable bookcases every year around this time as the students come back. But it seems that they have changed the model between the last time that I bought one and now. The old one was slightly less wide, and slightly shallower (5"), and had 4 shelves. Because it was wider, the bottom unit has a stand that attaches to the bottom for stability. the current model is slightly wider, deeper (6"), and has 3 shelves.

I called them and they say apparently it changed 2 years ago after a year where they couldn't get any of the bookcases.

If there is someone out there with an old style bookcase, and who might like to do a swap, I'd like to talk. I have one old style and one new style right now, and while I slightly prefer the old style (where I want to keep the bookcase, a bookcase with less depth is preferred), I would swap either of them for the other style, so as to have a matched set.

(or if for some reason you like the folding nature of these bookcases, but don't need them to stack, if you go and buy a new bookcase (they cost $29, students get 15% off), I'll trade you my old one and $10 for it. But that's just off and a random thought)

I think I have an extra of the shallower ones that I'd be happy to trade- I'm not home tonight but could tell you for sure tomorrow evening. Am I right that the one you would like to trade is slightly bigger, and has 3 slats up the sides, and possibly a separate top shelf? Is it really only 6 inches deep? I have two kinds from tags, one 2 years old, one about 4, but both are deeper than 5 or 6 inches.
