Free beginner Blues Dance lesson at Johnny D's this Sunday and next (9/19)

And this time I'm actually posting about it *before* the day of--go me!

Lesson is at 3:45pm and goes until the weekly blues dance begins (any time between 4:30 and 5pm). Lesson is free, jam is $3

This week, one of the best blues dance teachers in Boston, Amanda Gruhl, will teach with an aspiring (and inspiring) blues dancer, Jamie Triplett. Next week, Shawn Hershey (of the Fried Bananas) will teach with the inimitable Naomi Choodnofskiy. You don't want to miss this. Ok, maybe you do, but that might be because you don't know what you are missing. Seriously folks, blues dance is a blast. Come dance with us or just order food and watch until you feel inspired to join in, it's all good. Hope to see some of you out there Sunday.

Have yet to make one of the Johnny D's sessions but definitely want to. Blues Union got me addicted to blues dancing so I hope the scene continues to grow with two weekly dances going on.

Actually, it's growing so fast (in Boston and elsewhere) that we are contemplating starting a third weekly, possibly on Tuesdays, if we can find an affordable and convenient place with a good floor. Part of the reason we have lessons on Sundays is to try to pair up established bd teachers with up and coming bd teachers; the scene is growing so fast that the incumbent teachers are dealing with a bit of burn out.

I don't recognize you from the picture, but I am wondering if we've met or at least seen each other at BU? If not, I'm sure we'll meet eventually:)
