Another stolen car alert

Hi all. My car was taken from the ten hills area sometime between 8pm last night and 8am this morning. It's a 97 white Honda accord with some bumper scratching and a little cat sticker in the back window. Plates started with 4DL550 Inspection sticker was month 3 but I don't remember the parking zone. I know you guys have ears and eyes everywhere so even tho this is a huge longshot if you see anything it would be SO GREAT if you could give Somerville police a call at (617) 625-1600 a call. Or comment here and I'll pass it on.

I know someone else's Honda was picked up a while ago (for parts, right?) was that ever recovered? Alternatively, does anyone have any ideas for where I could go take a look?

EDIT: It was found! In Roxbury. Missing the radio and ignition, but working. Thank you to everyone for well wishes (and squees)

Hey! Was it 2 or 4 doors?

It was my Honda that was taken recently, and no, she hasn't come back. And all I have to say is DO NOT go take a look for yourself, if you have any ideas, pass them on to the cops. They were great in fielding my ideas and suggestions and have been nothing but helpful. I looked in the local housing projects, etc with no success, but really, it was unnecessary as they had passed the plate and vin to all local police and parking authorities. I wish you luck. If you had anything of value in it make sure the cops know and consider putting a craigslist rss feed up for it. Nothing fruitful has come of me doing this, but most people have no idea what to do with a bunch of exercise equipment ;) Feel free to contact me offline if you have any questions!!!

My '91 Honda civic Si was stolen back in June. The cops gave me a call two days later to tell me it was found in Revere, abandoned on the street with the passenger compartment completely stripped down to bare metal. Here's hoping you have better luck than I did.

many years ago, a neighbor's car was stolen from the clarendon hill area. only thing was...it was towed not stolen! somerville PD and the towing folks records hadn't matched up yet and after a while Pats called the neighbor to say, hey you gonna pick up your car or what?

while i know car theft is on the rise, this anecdote posted as a public service to remind people to also check tow yards - just in case! :)

This is particularly true for ten hills at the moment, as they have been moving/towing cars because of the construction. Not to lend false hope, but if you haven't called Pat's it's worth a try.

nah, I called around to all the tow places first thing. definitely good advice, though!
