Hullo! I actually live in Watertown, but am a Personal Trainer at the women's gym on the Cambridge-Somerville border, which I just found out is a short walk to Davis Square. So I figure that even though I don't reside in Davis Square, I could at least be a neighbor, since I spend about 65% of my time nearby. ^_^

So, aside from the Diesel Cafe, which I learned all about from the below thread, what other good, worthwhile places are there to hang out at in Davis Square? Do tell... : )

Denise's ice cream.
Concerts and independent films at the Somerville Theatre.
A wide variety of music, and food and brunch and bar, at Johnny D's.
That are with the benches and the bronze people, when the weather is good.
The Burren, big dark smoky Irish pub, with live music in back.

There are often outdoor events happening during the warmer parts of the year.

other neat things...

A crepe restaurant a little further up Holland St.
The Someday Cafe.
My chiropractor. :)
A new Italian restaurant that I haven't tried.
The Rosebud diner.
Anna's Taqueria (though there's one right next door to Healthworks as well).
Pluto, purveyor of funky clothes, really fun greeting cards, arty jewelry, and lots of fun tchotchkes.
Occasional festivals.

I like Davis Square. :)

The new Italian restaurant is yummy, though the service is slooooooooooooooooow and our waitress could not add.

music....
disc diggers right on highland ave before osco (brooks?) is nice because its all alphabetized by band and not just thrown in to the appropriate letter bin where you might have to fish through all the "A's" to find your favorite obscure A band.
also CD Spins is around but the vertical shelving arrangement exists, though bending up and down searching the wall makes for good exercise...

Well, if you like Indian food, Diva is incredible. They have a sampler basket of naan with one each of garlic, rosmary, and apricot naan. (I think it was apricot, maybe peach or mango) If you're a meat eater and really have a jones on for some southern-style, then you can't beat Redbones. There's also a really awsome games shop there called Your Move Games.
