Friday October 29, 2010
7:00 p.m.
Registration deadline: October 22, 2010. Dinner and the class are free, but you must register by October 22! RSVP to registrar@thehav.org or 617-623-3376.
Join us for services and a dairy/vegetarian Shabbat dinner followed by a class 'Songs from Shir HaShiriam' taught by Aliza Arzt. We regularly provide dairy-free and gluten-free options at dinner. But if you have specific food needs, let us know asap. Services at Havurat Shalom are egalitarian, lay-led and usually involve a lot of singing.
In this class, we will sing songs whose words come from "Shir haShirim (Song of Songs)". We will also do a little study about Song of Songs and find out how these poems work as romantic and spiritual poetry regardless of a person's orientation.
Aliza Arzt has been a member of Havurat Shalom since 1978 and is currently a speech therapist, martial artist, potter and leopard gecko breeder.
