davis_squarePlease join us for the SOS Kick-Off Event and Planning Meeting at Brickbottom Studios Gallery, 1 Fitchburg St., Somerville, on November 3, 2010, 7pm to 9pm.
Enjoy a little food and wine while mingling with other SOS artists, volunteers and newcomers as we discuss this coming year’s Open Studios.
SOS planning has begun! Now is the time to shape the event with the purpose of creating a successful weekend for all involved. Volunteers from the Somerville Artist Community are crucial in this process. We would like to hear feedback on last year’s event and walk through the planning and calendar leading up to SOS 2011.
This year we are trying a different approach – the Coordinator role will be led by a team of veteran volunteers – Terry Dovidio, 2010 Assistant Coordinator, Sarah Dobkin, 2010 Community Space Co-coordinator and Bonnie Denis, part of the 2010 Membership team. One of our areas of emphasis this year will be increasing traffic to less visited single site studios and developing a system of guided walking tours within neighborhoods.
Whether you have a few hours a week or a month, all volunteers are welcome! There is always something to do and we can’t do it alone…
