Marsha Norman's classic play, 'night, Mother.
ONE NIGHT ONLY!

The New York Times called ʹnight, Mother “one of the most moving
and thought-provoking plays in recent theatrical history.” In the
midst of our national conversation about suicide, this classic drama
is an opportunity to consider one person’s reasons and widen our
own understanding of the act. A portrayal of the last evening of
Jessie Cates’ life and her mother’s desperate attempts to talk her
back from the edge, ʹnight, Mother is also an in-depth examination
of control, relationships and the boundaries between them.
Jo Guthrie makes her long-awaited Theatre@First directorial debut
with ʹnight, Mother, featuring newcomer Julie-Anne Whitney and
Jeanne Callinan, last seen in Theatre@First’s 2010 production of
Dracula.
Talk about it! The cast and director will be available for a conversation
with the audience following the performance.
