Shave and a Haircut, two bits? (rather, gimmie yer two cents)

So, guys out there, where you kids going to get yer hair cut? I'm not looking for anything 'spensive. For most of my life I've gone to a barber, then came college and I just cut my own hair. I'd like to stop with the half-assedness of it all and get a decent cut. Is there any place local to the Davis/Porter area that you'd recommend? Places I should stay away from?

I like Alfonso's (or is it Al's?) It's right on Somerville Ave. It's the second one on the way to Porter Sq across from the park. They were pretty cheap.

I've tried it before, and yeah, its cheap... but I wasn't super happy last time. Wasn't a bad cut, but it wasn't that great of one either.

I go to Mario's on Holland St. They do a great job and I think it's about $17 for a guy's haircut. Not too shabby...

I think that's the shop where they shaved my eyebrows without asking. Kinda freaked me out, but did differently improve my "look."

There's a little barber shop whose name I can't remember, right in Davis Square on highland Ave. It's on the same side as the UPS. The people are friendly, it's cheap, and my roommate (a guy) was always happy with his cuts there and I was always happy with touch-ups I got there for my short hair.

I swear by Custom Barbers in Harvard Square, right across from Crate and Barrel. The first chair barber, Nick, is the best!
Nothing too fancy, but definitely solid!
